Mother

by Michael D Nalley   Jan 22, 2006

The most beautiful word ever written or spoken is mother.
For the love they give on earth cannot be surpassed by another.
My, siblings, and I, were especially blest,
We certainly all agree that we had the best.
Yes blest with the gift from God free.
She means everything to me.
Although her familiar form rests in God's green earth
Her spirit remains with me in her eternal birth.
No need to think of the pain of yesterday only the pleasures of tomorrow.
You know, to me they are as closely linked, as the feelings of my joy and sorrow.
But now when I think of her I don't think of her in earthly pain.
And not of a loss on earth, but the joy of a heavenly gain.
Even if I sometimes have to stand in the rain,
I know mother can be with me without the pain.
