Embrace it

by libby   Jan 25, 2006

Let's place the blame
on someone else today. Let's
sling it across the room and let it
muck someone else up, wouldn't
want to stain
our pretty white shoes.

Let's make excuses, something to help us believe
we're perfect. It wasn't my fault.
No, it wasn't my fault.
You see, it's never my fault.

Let's delude ourselves this week.
It'll make our lives better. We'll convince
ourselves
first, because
truth is relative.

Let's plead ignorance, or at least
the fifth. No one
will have to know. Too bad it's
ourselves
to whom the truth is owed.

I really like you style, it's straight foward and not straight foward all at the same time. Finally poetry I could sit and read for hours! You will be promptly added to my favorites.
