No Need to Fear

by Ð맆îñ¥   Feb 8, 2006

What time is there to dwell on this life?
For all that we gain is sorrow and strife
Look to the dawn or the moon in the sky
Forget the fear for the day that we die

What fortune have we that slows us down?
What enemy is this that keeps throwing us down?
Look to the sun when the shadows take hold
There's no need to fear as we grow old

What happens to us when the dimness of night
Is stilled in our hearts for this eternal light?
We know we can fight as our courage runs deep
But with the nightmares we never find sleep

What fortune is it that draws our eyes?
We end up becoming the things we despise
For all that we are we must now make a stand
And offer to the enemy the gift of your hand

Take heed from the night when all look the same
You're just another soldier, but you've a heart and a name
Offer up yourself for the good of this earth
So we'll live in the sunshine and laugh in blue surf

Look to the dawn and the moon in the sky
There's no need to fear of that day when you die
When you see in the light we're alive inside
There's no need to fear; there's no need to hide.

Your ryhming is just amazing. Simple words, but you used them perfectly.

And no problem for the other comment, I never get to see poems written in the format like that one. They really are one of my favorites.
