The Sun Sets on Hope

by Chris Harding   Feb 11, 2006

Theres a lot of good reasons
Why first impressions are made
As the sun sets fast
It begins to rise again

Hold back your dreams
For the sake of the one you love
Open your eyes
To realize what youre worth

Theres a star in the sky
And as the dawn pushes back the night
We link arms and celebrate
As our hope draws the gifted together

Breaking my back
For that Friday I cant have
Stuck in a weekenders rut
Ill remember that day

As our bond breaks
And this ring of roses falls
A shattered moment in pieces on the floor
As we lay amongst friends in fauna
Losing the will to rise again
As the sun sets on hope
That this day brought from within

What do we have left but to relish in
The company of each other
Simple tears of joy from
Our love for one another

Is this so hard to believe?
An age apart as our worlds collide
Mutual understanding
Born out of a shared tragedy
