Geology Almost

by Kevin   Feb 20, 2006

It's not about heartache
nor emptiness
but mainly cake
and fruit juice plus tofu
things you would quite often bake

I'm over the water show
yeah purged you from my system
yet pesto files your memory dear
certain songs and sunlight clear
contract time and miles until you're near

Still I'm one like Neo
and what is the Matrix?
It's a web of "things" aligned with you
experiences that I took as Two
called again to mind when took anew

I must say that the mention of pesto made me smile. If only reference to a kilt were also involved it would have been awesome :)

What I take away as the message in this piece is that it is the things you come to miss when a loved one is gone, those things that make them familiar, like their cooking and the way they went through their everyday lives. Again, I feel pressumptious acting like I know what you mean. Your poetry is so multi dimensional that it would be for anyone to act like they were 100% sure of its meaning.

Plain, everyday things remind you of the people you love and then lose because that is what made them special. It's about those little daily reminders that you can't get away from.

    Excellent.

I found this intriguing to say the least. It's unlike any love poem I've ever read, but still conveys the same sentiments. Simply magnificent~Holly
