Come morning

by Shelby Bridges   Feb 21, 2006

When I hold you in a way
my arms have never felt
The softness of your breathing
as my heart begins to melt
Then the silence falls around me
as I wait your every touch
Floating in a gentle slumber
and wanting you so much

Then your eyes begin to close
as I move closer to be near
To whisper words of love
gently in your ear
Just the measure of your smile
the capture of your charm
The approval of your heart
your flesh so soft and warm

As I lay my head to rest
I smell the scent of your hair
Knowing well your beside me
along with feelings we both share
Then I begin to close my eyes
as I drift away without warning
I take a deep breath of relief
while I wait for you come morning
