Unbroken

by Synh   Mar 4, 2006

Ever wonder why my soul won't cry?
It's away from the world and all your lies
You try to break me and want me to die
But, like the tides of the moon, I'm still alive

My skin color tears at your mind
It begins to unravel over time
You try your best to break my pride
But the light of the Lord keeps me alive

In your head you seek to find
The answer to my demise
But no matter how you try
I'll be here, full and alive

What is it that makes you lie?
Makes you go off and lose your mind
If you could, you'd kill me at the drop of a dime
Forever I live, I'll always be alive

My heritage burns into your mind
Engraved forever in the sands of time
The sight of my color makes your anger cry
I laugh at you for I'll always be alive

All my years my color will eternally thrive
It's a symbol of what my ancestors survived
People such as you, no matter how you try
Cannot break me, I'll always be alive
