What Do You Do?

by ~*Ley*~   Mar 5, 2006

What do you do?
When you find your guardian angel
Lying dead on the front lawn?

Do you just stand there?
Thinking what the hell is that?
Since when did I have an angel?

Do you go out and stare?
Then start kicking it while it's down,
Tearing it's wings for never being there?

Do you rush out?
Pick up it's head and cradle it like a child.
And watch your heart pour out in the form of tears?

The answer is simply yes.
You did all three, in that order,
And then you pulled out a quarter.

You called up the tow company,
Told them to get down here fast,
You weren't sure the body would last.

You gave up waiting for the truck,
And just dragged it into your bedroom,
And blocked the door with a broom.

You put it inside a plastic bag,
And tucked it away in your closet,
You didn't care people thought you lost it.

So what if others think that you are crazy?
Not many people can say to themselves,
I've got an angel-wings on my shelves.

The angel was never there for you in life,
So in death it will stay with you forever,
So long as the body doesn't decompose, ever.

Kind of a sick dark humor thing going on but I like it still. It's unlike any I have read.
