Bye

I remember a life of wonder,
when we knew no hate.
When our reflections covered up mistakes,
and there was no such thing as fate.

I remember when you were still here.
We'd stand at the shoreline,
shedding each other's tears.
You'd wipe away mine and I'd wipe away yours,
a secret the two of us would keep,
locking it away forever more.

Chasing each other throughout the towers,
running through fields of flowers,
tossing aside grass as we go,
listening to the wind sing along as it flowed.

When the sun would set,
and we'd make a bet,
on who would be home,
and if we'd be alone.

Stars would sparkle against the azure sky,
and deep inside we both had excitement in our eyes.
A picture's worth a thousand words,
the only thing that matters is if they are heard.

With broken wings and blood stained arms,
I sit here alone in the dark,
thinking of you with all of my heart,
praying time will pass by.

Childish fairy tales surpass my mind,
and sometimes I wonder if you were still here,
and you saw me with all of this blood,
and all of these tears.
I wonder what you would have said,
if you were here,
and you weren't dead.

I wonder why life is so hard..
It's like a fragile jewel,
let alone a shard.
Your own soul put into one..
Drop that shard,
and then you're done..

No more you,
no more me..
The darkness is so full,
no one can see..

Forgive me for what I've done..
If only you were here,
I wouldn't have to run..

Bye bye beautiful..
Don't bother to write..
