In my little eyes

by Juls   Mar 16, 2006

Mommy covers my ears
When someone says words
I shouldn't hear

Daddy locks the TV
With shows thats are rated
Over 'G'

Joey, my brother
Teaches me how to punch
So I hold my own in a fight

I watch the news
See other moms and dads cry
for that night they lost their kid

On the school bus
Video cameras stare
Each day we behave

My school has police man
Checking my book bag everyday
and check my I.D badge so I don't move away

Anyone can protect me from these
But I stand tall
On this place we call Earth

Sticks and Stones
Will break my bones
Words..will hurt me

But they will not kill me
So I stand tall for
what I stand for

I might be small
but I sure am strong
I will stand like there is a tomorrow

Everyday till I die

~This was a challenge a member gave me. Focusing on how a child(being me) saw things through life.
Not a great poem but it was a enjoyable one to write

I think that kids today aren't as tough as they used to be, they are protected too much.
