BROKEN

At one given time you and I shared one hell of a life...
With dreams and hopes of one day having you as my everlasting wife.
Promises made; yet promises fell through...
Had we have focused together, working harder each day...Our love would have held true.

I remember the laughing and the closeness we had...
Now the only thing I see, hear, feel or live is a broken down sad.
I loved you the first day I saw you and it grew stronger each day...
You taught me everything there was to love in every single way.

Though the times are gone and our love fell apart...
You still run through my blood that pumps the life in my heart.
Dishonesty and hurtful acts were the root of our break...
There is nothing good left inside of me, nothing more you could take.

As I am released of all feelings, emotions and acts of anything good...
I wonder if you feel any kind of remorse as I would hope you should.
Your hurtful acts and don't forget mine as well...
Sent the most powerful connection straight into what we refer to as hell.

The good times are forgotten; memories faded into dust...
Only now filled with hatred, demise and distrust.
We were a beautiful team you and I that is for sure...
As we once created a thing called love that was incredibly pure.

Sometimes I think of you holding me close on cold winter days...
Once again keeping warm and safe while teaching me your thoughtful ways.
Those feelings are now empty filled with nothing in sight...
How will I get through yet another cold lonely night.

So much left unsaid, so many words left unspoken...
And the wings we built together lie face down...completely broken.
