An Empty Soul

A girl is stumbling
Walking down an empty street
Tripping over thin air
Falling from her feet

In an empty alley way
Tears trickle from her eyes
She falls down to her knees
Its been so long since she has cried

Her soul seems for ever gone
She feels suddenly so lost
Angry grips her empty heart
What has her sadness cost

She cuts away her feelings
But she denies the aching pain
Its a soothing relief
Cutting through the veins

The sidewalk rips her jeans
Her knees begin to bleed
She wants to feel the pain
Maybe that is what she needs

She tries just feeling something
She doesnt know what to do
Where should she go from here
Who can she turn to

Her father? He is useless
She blames him for her pain
Her tears start falling faster
They mix in with the rain

Her mother can never know
Just a disappointment on the list
But, her mother must be blind
For theres proof along her wrists

Her friends deny it
More than even she
Where did this begin
How could this ever be?

She tries to pinpoint the time
Its gripping at her heart
She just doesnt understand
When did all this start?

Is there a happy little girl
Inside off this empty one?
A little girl yearning for love
To smile, and simply have some fun

Angry the girl sighs
She silently gathers her poise
People hollering on the street
Do something about this noise

She struggles to her feet
Straightens out her shirt
She rubs at her jeans
Tries getting off the dirt

Her destination is still unknown
But she has cried all her tears
And is flooded with relief
As the sky begins to clear
