You were...

by Melissa   Mar 24, 2006

You were always brilliant,
the way you'd undress me
with those searching eyes
and then pretend to adore me.

And your smile looked so idiotic,
the way you'd bite your tongue
with those crooked teeth
and then whisper, I have nothing to say.

You were simply genius,
the way you convinced me to play
with those playful hips
and then forget what I gave away.

And your body was so cruel,
the way it played your game
with those spontaneous moves
and then strategically say, I give up.

You were knowingly heartless,
the way your passion spoke
with those lips of destruction
and then you kissed me, anyway.

And your language was insanely poetic,
the way you murmured my name
with those jaws of broken honesty
and then nonchalantly say, Au revoir.

Wow Melissa...this poem is amazing! Even though it doesn't really have a set rhyme scheme, it left me speechless. You can tell this write came from the heart ...

    "You were knowingly heartless,
    the way your passion spoke
    with those lips of destruction
and then you kissed me, anyway."

...this stanza is really good...I love the way you put your thoughts into words...you're very talented! 5/5

If you could r/r/c my new poem called "Your Love" it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
