A true friend

by Laura Ash   Mar 26, 2006

A true friend can see the hurt
You use hurt to bury me in the earth
A true friend sees beneath the smile
You keep getting farther, mile by mile
A true friend sees past the lies
You can't even open your eyes
A true friend stabs liars for you
Liar is something you've always knew
A true friend understands trust
When it comes to friendship you say nothing to us
When there's a problem a true friend comes to you
But I'm never the one you turn to
A true friend can handle what's true
You blame everyone but you
A true friend can't be bribed or bought
A true friend is what you are not
