The Man With Many Faces

by Dean Russell-Rands   Mar 29, 2006

I woke up just like any other day
Did my things the very same way
But when I saw my face in the mirror
Somone else looked back at me

Everyday I wear a different face
Try to hide a behind a smile
If only for awhile...

I am the man with many faces
I cry a thousand tears but never show it
I smile a thousand smiles but never mean it
Because I wont let my pain leave any traces

I am the man with many faces...

As each day goes slowly by I do what I can
Try to lift my head, Try to see the light
Try to fight the worries of an insecure man
But I see the very truth - its who I really am

I am the man with many faces
I cry a thousand tears but never show it
I smile a thousand smiles but never mean it
Because I wont let my pain leave any traces

I woke up just like any other day
Did my things the very same way
But when I saw my face in the mirror
Somone else looked back at me

I wont let my pain leave any traces
I am the man with many faces...

Note: this is a song and not a poem. However you comments and votes would still be very much appreciated. Thankyou.

I thought it to be a song as I read it, it was a great piece, with a subject that everyone can relate to. Beautiful!

A song? That was my first thought. It sounded like a song. Of course the first part had a poem-ish quality that soon became apparent as a song. What type of genre would you classify this under cuz this does sound like it would be a cool song.
