"Cries Left Unheard"

At night I try, close my eyes and go to sleep
In my mind, search for words to say though my heart is weak
Not knowing the extent of pain, my suffering carries on.
To heal my pain, take matters into my own hands, Lord knows I'd be wrong
Still, after all these years, the lives we lead are lies
Yet to understand ourselves or one another, we fall asleep to the sound of unheard cries
