The time has come

by erotema   Apr 6, 2006

He walks along the shore, while i within
the water cold and blue. we talked before
when life was free of mortal vice and sin,
yet now our topics stray to death and war.

how crass and crude we are! we've led them here
with myth and subterfuge and golden sand
upon the beach and water cool and clear.
'tis we, not fate, who've dealt their wretched hand.

who now to blame, if somehow blame there be?
they brushed the water's edge with sandy shell
and trust. now truth shall rightly surface: see,
what once was home is now a briny hell.

That was my favorite line in the poem! Your poems have a aspect changing meaning in them, and I found them a complete joy to read. 5/5

Again, somebody here can write and keep writing. I read that you combine styles, right, well it certainly is different that the usual tell it straight to you style. I'm amazed.
