The five W's of Cambridge

by Brian King   Apr 6, 2006

As I would sit here listening with my unshaven beard
I would look at her and think; ”man she’s weird”

Who screwed this up?

We were perfect; like X & Y, Ying &Yang, she was salt and I, pepper
I had vivid fantasies of “livin’ the dream” or growing old together

When did it go wrong?

She had this sudden, intense interest in me; I have no clue why
But without it, the hope she gave me with all the drugs I would soon die

What happened to us?

Every second we could spare we were never apart
We moved so smooth, it could have been art

Where did it go wrong?

She was my sun piercing the void of darkness the always surrounds
I first heard you call and then I blocked it all, all the sounds

Why did this happen?

She said, “I’m moving to Cambridge!”
… that’s when
…that’s who
…that’s what
…that’s where
… You’re why!

This is a very interesting read. It's quite off-beat and different from your other work. Although of the "5 Ws" I don't understand why "she" is the Why rather than the Who. I'd love to know!
