Finding Me

by Mephastophilis   Apr 9, 2006

I went on a journey to find myself - and got lost.
I ended up with nothing and at what cost?
I want to go back in history,
To the days I thought I knew it all,
Now there's only mystery.
I thought I was clued up,
But I was dumb and naive, It all seemed so simple,
Now it's complicated,
A tangled mess,
Intermixed with confusion, self pity and misery.
I tried to find me
But all I found was.......
All I found was a rude awakening,
I was so dumb and naive-
No one is really what they seem.

Life's just a game that no-one can win.
All you can do is try to live it your way.
So I'll keep on trying to find me
So I can be comfortable in my own skin.
All the riches in the world mean nothing
If you don't know who you really are within.

It seemed to have had the start of a rhyme but then it stopped and started something new that kinda twisted into a different flow. Strange yet likeable.
