I'll muddle through

by C Cattaway   Apr 12, 2006

You really are a special man,
A wonder amongst men,
And I cannot wait for the time
that I see you again.
It's hard to tell you how I feel,
to put it into words,
But knowing days will pass before
I kiss you, really hurts.
If God gave every one of us
a heart to call our own,
and mine has simply lost its way,
It's finding its way home.
For every time I'm near to you,
It's calling out your name,
But knowing it's not yours to keep,
It merely cries with shame.
And when, one day, it breaks to pieces,
Shards will shatter, fine,
For it will know the truth, like us,
That you cannot be mine.
But 'til that day, I'll just enjoy
The time that we have left,
And when it ends, I'll muddle through,
and stand within the mess.
And so, I sit and wonder, at
This man who is my friend,
And wait to kiss, and hold him,
When will I see him again?
