Looking back
there are so many what ifs
so many different possible outcomes
I could have ended up somewhere so different from here
bad decisions haunt my past
you offered me your hand
dragged me up and out,
put me back on the straight and narrow
and given me endless encouragement
and for that I’m forever grateful
