The Bullet That Flew

by Carol Davis   Apr 23, 2006

Sitting on the grass watching my child play.
Reminiscing my younger days.
I heard screams but didn't look.
Kids running here and there screaming hands flying in the air.
Still remembering those days couldn't shake it off.
I heard the sound of a gun I sprang to my feet and to my surprise my little one was shot between the eyes.
Her lifeless body just laid there where she fell, blood splattered everything and everyone.
I felt my heart go weak and my knees go numb.
I felt the sickness in my throat as I watched them cover her head to toe.
I screamed as they carried her away
They put her in the black and white car and drove away.
I followed the car as it went to the morgue.
My eyes clouded with tears I got out and they were carrying her in the room.
I lay upon her body asking why this had to happen?
Screams came deep within as the tears flowed upon her body.
Down I went lost within my own pain.
I can't let you go you're my little one I call.
Mommy I say please be brave.
Don't take your life to be with me
God won't take you in.
You know he fronds upon that.
You will cast yourself to stone.
I will be ok because I will go to heaven and be healed.
When it is your time to go God will bring you to me and we can be a family again.
I love you mommy till we meet again.
Be strong for us mommy.
Your little one of love.
