Dedicated to the pursuit of love

by Mephastophilis   Apr 26, 2006

You have no idea what you do to me.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I like to play it cool because it's my style
For if you give them an inch, they'll take a mile
I've seen the heartache caused by so called love
So I played it safe but then I got blessed from above.

Out of the blue you drove into my life
You took away the drama, the pain and the strife.
I think I'm in love with you, your addictive kiss,
Your infectious laughter, your heart warming embraces,
Your soft touch, your strong mind, your brazen honesty,
Mind and body, looks and brains, best of both worlds
What more is there to say?

I don't know what you've done to me
Or where all my barriers are
But for once I feel free to feel
And for that I give you my heart,
My soul and my innermost thoughts
I give to you all of me
Because you gave me the greatest gifts,
Joy,
Companionship,
Honest advice-
Renewed hope
Trust
And greatest of all
You gave me your love.

Don't get me wrong- I am not naive,
The path to true love never did run smoothly,
They'll be times we fight,
Might break-up a few times,
But I'll give all I have, go to the far ends of the world, sell my soul to the devil, get on my knees and beg, admit I was wrong for once, anything, I would do anything to make this, us, we, you and I work.

Dedicated to the pursuit of love. May we all find what we set out for. XxX

What a difference the world would be if only we all could find love. Beautifully done. You took a wonderful wish/sentiment and turned it into an amazing poem.
