The game of love

by nicole   Apr 26, 2006

Love is but a foolish game
that many have yet dared to play
some so lost in its slow song
some so quick to hurry it along

the quick footed player stumbles and falls slowly but surely falling into squalls that seem to suck ones life away take ones heart in risks from day to day

the smart player though quite slow
the battle of risks they take blow by blow slowly over coming each in its own play over coming each pain with growing grace day by day

the one falls in and out of shame
losing hope here the next turn once again praying for hope to gain
love again to find true and plain

the careful one though with not much trial for they were careful all the while while the first plunged on with rage then confined to depressions cage

in the end which do you think will win this game of hope or shrink back into this terrible plot the same life of lost love forever to trot

down a lonely path one turns
while the other to true love it yearns to climb its way to the top
once there never again to drop

the one who was slow in the beginning has found true bliss and happiness in the ending

unfortunate for the one who rushed
they endure life forever lost and crushed never to find their true love once so recklessly sought
forever doomed to their lonely battle to be fought

in this sad tale two lives are portrayed which are you?
hope? slow & happy?
or careless reckless hopeless rage?
