Cobra

by Daenerys Stormborn   May 2, 2006

Cobra, how you wiggle and wind with such graceful motion
Glassy, arrowhead scales rippling and waving like the ocean
Limbless but strong and quick, slippery but sleek and dry
Shimmering in the cool moonlight, pulsing in the summer sky
Gliding and sliding with elegant, cadenced precision
Polished eyes shimmering in the shadows with slit-pupil vision
Twisting and weaving in a forever changing, erratic dance
Slithering smoothly, putting prey in an unfathomable trance
Waiting patiently for the opportune moment to strike
Injecting venom of malice so immense, there is none alike
Cobra, how you wiggle and wind with such graceful motion
Glassy, arrowhead scales rippling and waving like the ocean
