Secrets

by Torn   May 2, 2006

My ears are ringing,
I can't hear myself breathing.
Stop screaming please,
I can't take it, leave.

Another hidden fight,
Yet another endless night,
Black tears drop to my wrists,
Another scar, another fist.

I run away so fast,
Wondering how long my legs will last.
As I leave the place called home,
Where I'm so utterly alone.

Walking on the main road,
Lights flash as horns blow.
In a parallel universe,
I see myself sink so low.

The indistinguishable pain,
Engulfs the rest of me.
As I've tried to escape,
I am forever owned by misery.

I have no strength to fight this,
I have run out of time.
Gone beyond healing,
These secrets are all mine.

    I can't take it, leave.''

    and

I have no strength to fight this''

There's something about the beat of those words.
