Farewell to the Leader

by mossgirl19   May 7, 2006

You taught us how to face the storm
that almost tore our boat of life away
you lit a little fire to keep us warm
as we sat freezing like castaways.

You raised a tiny hope
and reminded us to be real
through problems we have to cope
through things we have to deal.

In the night when all was asleep
in the silence you passed away
all hearts bleed and weep
as we see you cold the next day.

"Farewell to you teacher
Your words will always be our guide
Farewell to you beloved Leader
and may you be on God's side.

Aww this is such a sad poem. It's always hard when someone close passes away, especially if it's someone we looked up to. I remember when one of my teacher's died, she was the nicest person ever. She taught me so much. This was a really good poem, because the readers could probably relate, and it was easy to figure out what was happening. The story was sad and powerful. Very nice write. Keep writing :)
