Just A Day

If ever a friend that I do need,
I call upon you here,
Im filled with such emotion,
I simply cant shed a single tear.

My words are just so empty,
My heart is filled with pain,
I never could imagine,
Of never seeing you again.

Even if my tears would flow,
And trickle down my skin,
No amount of crying,
Could wash away the pain Im in.

You know I'll pray on bended knees,
For God to turn back time,
Im hoping soon he'll realize,
That your not his you are mine.

Please dont call me selfish,
Or tell me its unfair,
I cant live another day,
Knowing your not there.

My words I write on paper,
But tell me what they say,
Do you think that God will read,
And give you back for just a day.

This is a really old poem of mine but I decided to repost it because someone very close to my heart asked for it.
