Good morning (continuing my dream)

by Ric Hansen   May 8, 2006

Good Morning My Love!
I couldn\'t let the dream end
so I finished it in my head.. Here goes:

As the sun pierced the muted cold of darkness
I contemplated your breakfast menu and slithered quietly from your side
into my terry robe and your Minnie Mouse slippers.
Carefully navigating the gray tones of the room and hallway
I was welcomed by the safe embrace of a dimly sunlit kitchen.
The sentient squeal of the refrigerator door
paled by the bright slap of light within
revealed the ingredients I now prepared
for your unbeknownst meal..
Yellow peppers and bits of real bacon,
shredded Jack and Cheddar combined with
two large eggs and a tablespoon of cream
whipped with a hand that only hours before
had carressed your soft skin.
Your French omelette, vanilla-macadamia coffee with cream and sugar
cinnamon toast, a frosted glass filled with
freshly squeezed orange juice
all balance on a lace covered tray adorned by
a single yellow rose clouded with babies breath
in a fluted single stem crystal vaselette...
Betrayed by the obtruse crinkle of the morning newspaper,
a whispering Jack Johnson melody harmoniously floats in
with the brisk morning air,
weaving its way in through the bedroom window.
I lean over, and with pre-moistened lips
gently kiss your cheek.
I softly say
"good morning, Sunshine!"
With eyes of adoration I watch
your entrancing eyes slowly flutter open.
You awaken to my smiling visage
freshly shaven and lightly scented with ginseng .
Seated in my blue robe with my cup of coffee
and a warmed moist towel for you to wash the sleep away
from your beautiful eyes.
For your dessert I have a small dish of sliced peaches and red grapes
to be served one by one from my hand to your mouth.
I will then offer you a sensual massage with a light oil
scented with lilac, gardenia or blooming night jasmine (your choice)
followed by soft kisses and touching
that lure you back into slumber.
I can spend hours taking in your angelic beauty
as you sleep.
I\'ll wake you for lunch, my love!
