A man's silent song

by Shædow Poet   May 11, 2006

A soundless vision walks with an ipod;
Swapping songs to the tuneless mainstream
There may be a beat,
Or it could be lacking drums
He probably would hate the song.

Whisking a piece of paper out of his bag
He can not hear the thin sheet crumple
Beneath his pictured skin.
“I loved you when, I saw you, and breathed:
perfection, it could not be any sweeter.”

He read the words, they did not escape his lips.
The two lines were seconds premature
Although the lyrics,
Bland and senseless without the ascending tune
Were enough to make the man cry.

The tear, landing on the ipods screen
Was as good as non-existent.
Facing away from known unknowns;
The smell of sorrow was consuming.
Perhaps, he began in heard thought:

This is the most passionate silence.
Or the most meaningful tune.
To those who can imagine it.
