Sunday is Fast Approaching

by Lost Soul 691   May 12, 2006

Sunday is fast approaching

and my heart will cry
more silent tears
for what will never be

Sunday is fast approaching

and I look back through the years
seeing a scared child
making a noiseless plea

Sunday is fast approaching

and do my parents ever think
what their actions brought about
when I was just fifteen

Sunday is fast approaching

and my womb still lies barren
for the knife that scraped you
left scars forever deep

Yikes. I have two hypothesis concerning the meaning of this poem, but both are a bit scary and personal, and so I think I'll keep them to myself. I hope you got through Mother's Day well. I thought the repitition of the title was pretty good, as it was a very lyrical line on its own.

Just letting out some emotion that overwhelms me at this time of the year. But on an upbeat I do still celebrate with my Mom ... kudos to all Moms on this special day!
