A Worthless Souls Decision

by Nicholas Kerst   May 14, 2006

This worthless soul is tired,
Don't tempt with meaningless words,
It screams for sweet release,
But nothing ever gets heard.

It wants something to hold,
Without fear for just one day,
Many enter its confines,
But nothing bothers to stay.

It's seen stray strands of light,
Wander for something worthwhile,
When nothing is found or heard of,
It's left without a smile.

It saw its world cave in,
Getting closer and closer, the walls,
It decided it was time to give in,
It decided to end it all.

Hmm..it's not as great as some of your other poems. But it's great to see how the imagery is used and all the things like that. Not bad. Not bad. But not your best. Yet I do like this line:

    "Stray strands of light,"

Strangely that just stands out. Good but not your best.
