Words Doused In Alcohol (Tanka)

by HOLLY ARMER   May 15, 2006

With a heavy heart
I douse words in alcohol
cleansing them as I
cast each one upon oceans
of lost thoughts and memories

*Tanka is a classic form of Japanese poetry; Related to the haiku.
Tanka has five un-rhymed lines, consisting of 5, 7, 5, 7, 7 syllables.

I like this one even more than the last tanka I read. I love reading about things that have to do with writing. Don't know why. I think the process embodies everything life has to offer.

That was something short that makes a strong point. Nicely done.
