My phobia of love

I've been sitting here for hours
Thinking of the right ways to say
I want to tell you I love you
But say it in a special way

And even though I know you know
I can't get the words to come out
I wonder why it is so hard
To say it's you I can't live without

I tried to tell you on the phone
And almost every time we talk
That I fell for you on life's road
Along the twisted road that we walked

I love you without any doubt
And I know everyone can see
And every time the three words come
It's like they can't escape from me

But that won't stop me from trying
Because I know my heart is true
One day I'll say the simple words
I will always be in love with you

It's not like fear rejection
I know exactly how you feel
You tell me every single day
Yet some reasons I still conceal

I wonder what I am afraid of
I fear I'll never get to know
Why I can not say I love you
Yet I can let the feelings show

Until that day I say those words
My poems will just have to do
They will share with you a fraction
Of how I really feel or you

So I'll sit here and think some more
And pray to the good God above
Then later I'll look to the stars
And wonder why I can't say 'love'
