Please write him a goodbye

by AI   May 19, 2006

To AnGeL

Please write him a letter
Please say to him "goodbye"
I know that you are in heaven
But he won't let that love die

They say in marriage vows
"Till death do us part"
I know that you weren't married
But you'll always be in his heart

Please give him a sign
Let him know you're alright
Help him get over you
So he won't cry every night

Like the stars that will shine
Brightly after their deaths
His love for you is eternal
Even now after your last breath

Please write him a letter
Do your best to reply
I know that you are in heaven
But please help him say goodbye

    Oh, grammer.
I liked the topic of this poem.
I want to call it "intriquite". That doesn't make any sense but it's the first word that popped into my poet's mind.
I've taken-and, yes, possibly misjudged- you for the kind who can handle real critique. So, here is some:
Take a little more care as to punctuation. What I'm talking about is :
    They say in marriage vows
    Till death do us part
    .

If someone says it, then it should be in quotation marks.
However, I've seen a couple times in poetry where the poet doesn't do that...so I suppose it's different and it's all up to you anyways.
What I'm trying to say, is if you don't want quotation marks, don't put them there.
    Just a suggestion. ;)

Also, the rhyming appeared a tad bit cliche. Please don't take offense. I can't exactly critisize you for that, because it's one of my BBBBBIGESSTT problems...so it's also just a suggestion; if you want to think about it, your writing could be improved.
But you know... "if" and "when", so whatev.
