A journey..

As you sit down
In your
Small, cramped seat
You cannot help
But feel excited

The sun sparkles
On everything it touches
And brightens
The long, crowded
Vehicle in which
You shall travel..

You look around
For a familiar face
But there are none
Just rows and rows
Of strangers..

The engine is turned on
And you suddenly race
Down a long, straight road
All of a sudden
Your stomach lurches
And you feel yourself
Moving up..
Up and up and up
Higher and higher
You fly..
Leaving behind your world..

Looking out of the undersized window
Once life size things
Shrink to the size of dollhouses
And large fluffy clouds
Start to surround you
And you become quite entranced..

As you plug in
A pair of shiny black headphones
A gentle lullaby plays
You feel your eyelids
Getting heavy..
Trying to resist is hopeless
You decide
And then you fall
Into a long, deep sleep..

When you eventually rise
Your mind
Starts to awaken
Thoughts of
Strange, new places
Excite it and you
Cannot seem to wait..

And as you reach
Your final destination,
You take one last look
At the special vehicle
And the friendly people
That made your journey
The best it could be..
