Despair

by Karen Simpson   May 22, 2006

Clawing at life with dirty numb hands
Surrounded by vast corrupted lands
Cold, alone and scared, striving to be brave
Hoping that her life he might choose to save

Crying and grasping at life with force
Face stained and hair growing course
Dark and stained, blood from open wounds
No longer hoping for light to come soon

Falling back down, with all fear and pain
Knowing that things would never be the same
Turning from hope, and trying not to care
That she may never escape this pit of despair

Lifting her up from her pit of despair
Showing her the first glimpse of care
Leaving behind all her pain and strife
Bringing her into a glorious, better life
