On One December Morning

On One December Morning

Before she drove herself to school
She kissed mom on the cheek
She smiled and said, "I love you mom"
"I love you too, my sweet"

She leaves for class as usual
The morning is not strange
But who knew in a couple hours
Her life would quickly change...

A morning full of math and friends
With notes and study guides
Laughing with some other kids
Her best friends at her side

Suddenly she hears a scream
She jumps and turns around
To see a bleeding classmate
Lying face-up on the ground

Her best friends all start running
As she tries to run along
But then she hears another shot
She knows there's something wrong

A cold rush flies into her chest
She turns around to see
A kid that she's known all her life
Staring back so angrily

As she falls onto the floor
The tears fall from her eye
She wonders who will be the one
To tell her mom goodbye

But the room is getting darker
As she bleeds without a warning
Who knew that her whole life would end
On one December morning
