Your Weekend

by C Cattaway   Jun 3, 2006

Another day has passed us by
And you are not with me.
You asked for just the weekend,
But you still won't be with me.

I cannot face another day
Whilst you are by her side.
I went to clear my head,
But more thoughts washed up in the tide.

A journey and a holiday,
Your weekend may be fun,
But it won't change our memories,
For what is done, is done.

And so, I'll leave you to your time
Where you can still pretend.
And if this doesn't make me smile,
I'll never be your friend,

For if you stay, like I presume,
We'll never meet again,
As you cannot afford to lose,
When you have played this game.

I loved you then, I love you still,
I'll love you evermore.
I miss you, and I cry for you,
And what life has instore,

For you cannot have everything,
And hard it is to say,
But you have chosen to destroy
My love, in every way.

Please be with me? I know that we
Could be so happy, till
The day that we grow old, and evermore
I'll love you still.
