In Islam

by Eibutsina   Jun 4, 2006

I needed help...
I wanted hope...
I was seeking guidance...

So I walked
My legs did stretch for miles
I found myself climbing a hill
A high and lengthy mound
Of rough and solid ground

Upon reaching its highest peak
I did pick a place
And then I sat.
I opened my mind
And I stared back
At my very own reflection
Of a distant recollection
Lit by a blessed and shining light
Of glowing divinity

It came to me at first
By form of floating book
Of golden splendid look
Singing music to my ears
Allahu Akbar it sang
Then it softly spoke my name.

Then before me a prophet did linger
Holding my own soul in the palm of his hand
Never once did I argue
Just opened my ears
Pursued closely by my heart
I did willingly behold His faith
As he lifted the concealment from my eyes.

I listened intently
I yearned to learn
Understand the belief that seemingly
Had captivated my kneeled prayer
In position of Qiblah
I envisioned the city Makkah
Gazing in awe at the sanctuary Ka'bah.

My trail of thought did wonder
Returning to decisions door
From the very moment of my birth
I saw life in innocents' most purity
Filled with a hope and love of beauty.
I witnessed knowledge
I experienced the truth
Perceiving faith and forgiveness
I found Islam.

My heart did speak to me
I beheld all worldliness I did discover
Then the tears washed down my face
Like the wall that I had built
Did vanish without a trace
La illaha illa Allah
I softly spoke my Shahadah.

As the light gently faded
The sun began to set
Evening rested in
I rose my hands and
I prayed with my all to Him.
Now before the sun does rise
In the early hours of the morn
I do rise and then I wash
Then kneel in worship to Him.

I find help...
I locate hope...
I discover guidance...

In Islam
Alhumdillah!
