Whats Left to Lose

Standing on a ledge
Staring at the rocks
Thinking of what keeps me
From tumbling off

Nothing comes to mind
I feel all is lost
Then a voice from behind
Whispers softly to my ear

"Whats left to loose
Why not give it a shot
Because when life is all you got
Boy, thats still a lot."

I turned to face her
My very best friend
And there she stood by my side
where she has always been

Shes provides shelter from my storm
Shes saves me from my flood
And if it weren't for her
I'd be drowning in six feet of mud

I glanced once more at the rocks
And then at her eyes
Yes, They offered relief
But she handed me life

She reached out her hand
I took it in stride
We walked away
For the rest of our lives

Her words still echo
In times of doubt
They give me strength
When i am without

"Whats left to loose?
Why not give it a shot?
Because when life is all you've got
Boy, thats still a lot."

    Omg...I loved this. This is honestly one of my favorite poems I have read on here before. It was so sweet and had such a good message...you are really lucky to have this friend and I'de say she's really lucky to have you too. This was so well written, had a good flow, a great choice of words, and a beautiful, thought provoking, deep, true message.
