Perfect Together

by Flying Phoenix   Jun 10, 2006

I stare quietly at the floor
Those black and red tiles
Evenly spaced and so perfect together
So perfect together
Perfect
Until I break one
And it shatters across
Those rippling lines of chaos
That torment reflected in me
So perfect together

You ask for forgiveness
And I was the one who worried
About hurting you
About breaking you
About loving you

You touched my heart
You held it firm
Then wrenched it from me
And watched it die

And now I sit here
Those tears have dried
That anger has passed
But still I'm broken
You cut me deep
But I love you still
And it aches when I cry

And there are the tiles
Perfect together
But not for me

*Based on something that just happened to me*

Your poem was written perfect and in the moment of me reading it, I seemed to disapear into your words. I know exactly what you were feeling when you wrote this. I love it. Casey
