Killing the Poetry

by HOLLY ARMER   Jun 15, 2006

Rays of sunshine bless my skin
sweet thoughts flow from deep within
Creating euphoric waves of delight
as the day fades slowly into night

Bringing torrents of angry rain
where only distant memories remain
Flashes of light, revealing my scars
the monstrous thunder scattering stars

Watching the winds of raging deceit
destroy inspiration with fervid heat
Crashing creativity into debris
while killing the poetry inside of me

This is such an opposite for me, I love the exhilaration of a raging storm or dark night while the sunlight/day can depress me.It is interesting to view this from such a different perspective. You have written it so well, so descriptive.I can hear/feel what you are saying, yet for myself it is reversed.A very accurate and meaningful write, however one looks at it.
