The Girl with Many Arms

by HOLLY ARMER   Jun 17, 2006

I met a sweet girl
with a half dozen arms.
She wore six shiny bracelets
all covered in charms.

She was something to see
you just wouldn't believe.
Wearing a hot pink shirt
with a half dozen sleeves.

I walked right up to her
and we started to talk
I asked her to join me
for a moonlit walk

We quickly became friends
though we could never be more
Cause if I asked for her hand
what would become of her other four?

**This was written for an emulation challenge presented by Sean Allen for EOP.
It was written from Tim Burton's poem entitled "The Girl with Many Eyes". Here's a link to that poem:

I like it. It sounds like it came straight out of Tim Burton's mind, therefore making it a good emulation. I'd love to see this girl, it would be a sight...I'll tell you. You did a good job keeping the comedic tone and light, fun atmosphere. YAY for girls with six arms!

Love this one, too! You always end your poems with a bang, that's what I love about your poetry... They never die off at the end, like alot of other poems I've read... Your an incredible poet, Holly! ;o)
