Roses

by Sean Allen   Jun 21, 2006

So much money and time spent;
bent into the shape of a flower.
Where's its significance
its symbolic power?
We all know
that with every passing hour
of every passing day
the head slowly droops,
and another petal falls away.
This poem is worth a thousand roses,
and a million violets too;
although the paper can burn away
the words are set, they'll always stay
and they'll only be for you.

    Outstanding! I adore this poem from beginning to end. The flow, the message, simply beautiful!
    As I read it, I really didn't think it could get better, but then I read the last line and found out I was wrong.
    Take care and keep it up~Holly
