Progress (A Haiku)

Slowly carving paths;
even with their liquid blade
rivers make canyons.

*There's a deeper meaning, I dare you to find it*

    Awesome Haiku! I find it so hard to write them as you have such little space to get a cross the message... As for the deeper meaning I have no idea, the cutting seems to make sense but then I don't know! Aargh please tell meeee! 5/5 again!

    I’m never one to pass up a dare, so I’ll take a crack at it.
    “Slowly carving paths” definitely reminds me of the tortoise and the hare ordeal. It makes me think of an individual trying to succeed at something (whether a project or life in general), and having to deal with impeding obstacles. Like ‘Lovely Bones’ said, trying to leave their mark. The “liquid blade” has nothing to do with cutting. Metaphorically speaking, I believe the blade is a symbol for the tools we use in life to “make our mark”. Some use their beauty and their looks to get ahead, while others use their intelligence. An actual liquid blade is rendered useless, but going back to the ‘tools’ theory, it has to do with choice. Which tools we use, and how we use them. Even the seemingly ineffective things can alter life significantly. It might make a dent now, but over time, many dents create a huge gap, hence the “rivers make canyons.”
