My Tale of Heartbreak and Misery

by Daenerys Stormborn   Jun 23, 2006

This is my tale
Of heartbreak and misery
All you must hale
For to hear you must pay a fee

From the first
Time that I became fully aware
Of my thirst
My womanly figure and hair

I knew they
Would come calling for me
Just to weigh
My worth for being so free

I fell in love
Just like my mother said
Minds full of
Love and sharing a warm bed

I was young
Gentle and shy as a rabbit
And how he sung
Made love seem like a habit

I was a fool
So ignorant and unaware
A love tool
With feelings he did not share

I gave my flower
To him one summer night
He turned sour
When I spoke of wearing white

My heart broke
And another lad saw me crying
Wrapped his cloak
Around my heart, soon flying

And once again
I fell in love without a care
Dreaming of men
Wearing nothing but underwear

And this time
My love drowned in a raging river
No wedding chime
Only tears as my heart did quiver

A year passed
And as you may indeed suppose
Tears did not last
When a third man gave me a rose

Soon I realized
A rose was all he had to give to me
Another disguise
For ever after being never happily

After this
I gave up on love being true
Still a Miss
Dreaming of my wedding pew

Years of solitude
Have made my body over sized
How crude
Is my curvy figure once prized

A few more
Lovers I thought would be mine
Out the door
Is where they left my heart behind

And this is
My sad tale of being all alone
Never a Mrs.
Just a lonesome, old crone
