A Closet John Denver Fan

Yes, I will admit it, I am a John Denver fan,
It is bad enough if you are a woman, but worse if you are a man.
I first heard his music when I was stationed in Germany,
A friend of mine put on An Evening with John Denver, and the rest was history.
When he sings Rocky Mountain High, my spirits, they just soar,
Just like his song I am an Eagle, I really want to hear more.
His Annies Song about his wife, was touching and was true.
In Grandmothers Feather Bed, he would get a laugh out of you.
The Calypso crew John sang about, Jacque Cousteau and sailors were for real.
The ocean and sea breezes, I really could feel.
When he sang Thank God I am a Country Boy, I would clap and sing,
everybody wanted to be a country boy and play the fiddle with pizazz zing.
His love of nature would come through in many of his songs,
He knew our lands were being abused, he knew that they were wronged.
Yes, I am a John Denver fan and I guess that I have come out,
the closet door is now wide open and tells you what I am all about.
