Éternité amère-doucer (ENGLISH)

by SCARECROW   Jun 27, 2006

Apologies for anyone who has been awaiting another of my dark poems, I fancied a change. The title, for those who do not speak French, means bittersweet eternity. Also, I would like to thank L'Arc~en~Ciel for the inspiration, and you, for reading. Once more, thank you. Please feel free to vote and comment, for if you do not correct me, who will?
*******************************

The memoirs linger
with a pale, crystal aftertaste.
Reminding me, vividly, of a fresh spring
morning
(serrated, ethereal and bittersweet
as rain).

Bedlam flees
from all
your sight dares kiss;
the passing perfect petal lips
of an aimless gaze.

Oh my dearest, my beloved,
my futile wish
(with liquid skin
and velvet pose).

Why is this ardour born of my heart?

Enamoured by your fragility;
an almost crystalline stance,
accompanied by a glance tilted slightly
towards that frangible eternity.

Forever lies,
sanctified,
in your embrace.

Recklessly, I grasp the fragmented tomorrow
in an unavailing attempt to hold it dear.
The pieces scattered
akin to autumn leaves.

Copious reminiscences
inscribed in the sand.
(Sweep them away)
Traces of sentiment?

You cause me unutterable misery,
you
and my unobtainable hopes.

Nevertheless, I stand
facing the seasons.

To my darling, with exquisite eyes
immaculately coloured by memory,
I dedicate the unending future.

This poem is adorably delicate, and also very meaningful. I loved the " velvet pose"
That made me happy. Good imagery was used here. Keep it up!

    Excellent! And again, excellent!
Though, and this might just be me, at some parts I felt no flow.
But still, I demand more poetry from you!
