The rose of days ago

by Bonnie Rose   Jun 28, 2006

The smell of sweet roses fills the room of days ago,
the sweetness, the deep blood color, dripping all over,
surrounding you with no escape.
captured in beauty.
death fills the room,
stalenesses presses itself against you,
dead but stealing your words
cant remember the blood flowing now,
just the dirt,
dark, the color of the ground
struggling for thoughts of yesterday
don't turn to dirt -
stay in my mind like a plastic flower
that can never decay
like the deep red rose,
the rose you are.
never leave, stay here,
flowing through me, easing my words out,
don't -
leave in a hurry
like a rose with no memories
leave a trace of you
your smell, your beauty
your present of a rose.
